A collage and assemblage exhibition curated by Fred Blauth

August 2018 - September 2018

Pocket is a collage and assemblage exhibition inspired by the precious and meaningless objects we carry around with us and the power of a collector to transform one into another. By shrinking the stage for these artworks to play on, the exhibition highlights the diminutive and the different ways small things can define, reveal, shape and connect us.

Fred Blauth is a writer and curator. He has contributed to Pittsburgh City Paper, The Rib, Queer Pittsburgh, Table Magazine and The Glassblock. He has worked with Bunker Projects, The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, The Carnegie Library, PERSAD Center, and Associated Artists of Pittsburgh since graduating from Duquesne University in 2015.

CURTIS WELTEROTH: BAWDY DOUBLE

June 2018 - August 2018

WEBSITE / INSTAGRAM

Curtis Welteroth is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Pittsburgh, PA. Their newest show, Bawdy Double, takes the anxiety of being a body and diffuses it with humor and self deprecating exaggeration. Tongue-in-cheek artifacts of queer failure, camp, perversion, unoriginality, rage, and sexuality alchemize into works of both the banal and slapstick. Taboos become still-lives, still-lives mock consumerist excess, and craft room trompe l’oeil dances roughshod over the authentic, the object, and the illusory.
